NexAI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the NexAI mobile application (the "App").

NexAI is built on a privacy-first, serverless architecture. We do not run proprietary chat servers, and we do not collect, view, or store your chat messages, prompts, or API keys. Your data belongs entirely to you and remains on your device or is communicated directly to the third-party AI provider you choose to use.
If you choose to run local AI models (such as Google Gemma) within NexAI, all processing is performed entirely on your device's local hardware (CPU/GPU/RAM). No prompts, conversations, or inputs are sent over the internet or shared with us or any other third parties when using the Local AI engine. It is 100% private and offline-capable.
If you choose to use cloud-based models (such as GPT-4, Claude, or Gemini) through OpenRouter, your prompts and conversation history must be sent to OpenRouter API endpoints to generate responses. This data transfer is subject to OpenRouter's privacy policy and data retention rules. You can connect to OpenRouter in two ways:
If you enter your own OpenRouter API key, it is encrypted and stored locally on your device using secure OS-level storage (Flutter Secure Storage / keystore / keychain). It is never sent to our servers and is only used to authenticate your requests directly to OpenRouter.
Your chat logs, database records (using Isar local database), app settings, and session configurations are stored entirely on your device's local storage. This data is not backed up to our servers. Deleting the App will permanently delete all local chat history.

To keep the basic features of NexAI free, we show advertisements in the free tier of the App using Google AdMob. Google AdMob is an advertising service provided by Google LLC.

We implement industry-standard security measures on your device, including encrypting keys using keystore/keychain frameworks. However, because your chat logs are stored locally, the security of your local data ultimately depends on the security of your device (e.g., screen lock, encryption, and protection against malware).
Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
